The Rainbow Ridge School community consists of dedicated parents, who have helped to build the school. Parents regularly volunteer their time to do tasks which help the school run. For example: a roster of parents cook a healthy tuckshop once per week as an ongoing fundraising activity .
Other tasks include: cleaning, gardening, general maintenance and helping with practical arts/ technical classes in the afternoon lesson. Overall, the parents are very envolved and supportive of their children's education.
The school has strong policies on environmental issues. We recycle compost and rubbish, use composting toilets based on the 'Clivus Minimus' design, have rainwater tanks and run on solar power.
Our volunteer gardeners use biodynamic agricultural practices in the development and maintenance of
the school grounds. The education is strengthened by the respect and reverence for all life and our native,
natural environment is integrated therein.
