Class Two

The generative impulse in this second year is Ancient India. Stories that convey wisdom and moral values are brought to life through the lives of the deities. The stories speak strongly to the imagination of the child. The class two child is full of curiosity and is able to work towards a broader understanding of the world
at large.

English covers lower case alphabet, grammar, poetry, and a basic reading programme. Foreign language, word games and writing practice are included.

Mathematics includes money, timetables, algorithms, time, class shop, line drawings, symmetry, place value and basic geometry.

Science builds on class one lessons. The four seasons, animal fables and the four kingdoms (mineral, plant, animal and man).

HSIE covers regional geography, Ancient India, animal stories and lives of the saints.

Arts include knitting, handstitching, origami, dyeing, simple cloth puppets, felt toys, wax models, wet on wet painting, singing, drama, playing recorder, Eurythmy, weaving and drawing.

Sports include circle/ring games, bush walking, swimming, athletics,
climbing and minor team games.
