Class Three

The generative impulse is Ancient Persia in this year. Stories of Ahura, Mazda and Zarathrusta bring images of duality, dark and light, to the students. These stories are the impulse behind the major studies and exploration of farming, gardening and building.

English covers punctuation, story writing, poetry, reading, speech, sentence structure, spelling and library studies.

Mathematics includes linear measurement, signs and symbols, place value, borrow and carry.

Science explores light and colour, agricultural studies and the 12 senses.

HSIE covers zonal geography, Ancient Persia, Hebrew and creation stories.

Arts includes embroidery, pencil shading, wet on wet painting, felting, masks, paper mache, string craft, drama, singing, playing recorder and Eurythmy.

Technical studies teaches cubby building, model making, woodwork, making simple musical instruments and meal preparation.

Sports lessons include throwing field balls, minor team games, athletics, obstacle courses, swimming, indoor games, bushwalking and gymnastics.
